The problem is that JAWS uses iits own keyboard driver which conflicts with any keyboard software installed.

I hope this issue is still on topic; I'm not sure whether JFW has anything to do with this or not.All the keyboards I use on various systems have the multimedia/shortcut keysabove the main QWERTY keyboard, such that I can hit one of these keys toraise or lower speaker volume, to mute sound, to open Internet Explorer, toput the system on Standby, etc. Recently I've noticed with my main two keyboards, that JAWS thinks I'm typing a character, and it echoes that "character," when I either raise orlower my sound volume using these little shortcut keys. For instance, whenI type the one that raises my volume, holding it down until the sound iswhere I want it, I hear this echo that sounds like B B B B B B B B B for aslong as I hold it. Similarly, when I lower my sound card's volume using that shortcut key, I here C C C C C C C C C for as long as that particular key is held. Muting or unmuting produces the sound D, even though I have not typed the letter D into any document or form field.Another of my keyboards does almost the same thing, but says F14 whenever Ilower my volume with that shortcut key. So there is an association herebetween the buttons and what JAWS thinks is a letter or function key; but Idon't want it to be there. How do I disconnect these annoying sounds from the buttons I press to makesimple tasks happen in Windows? Has anyone else ever experienced this? Orare the gods just toying with me?
