Okay;
1. if you remove your logic tech software form you start up folder and the
add a shortcut to your desktop for it that will solve your problems as then
it wont automatically load when you are using JAWS .
2. Go into your control panel in your mouse and keyboard sections and adjust
them to the setting you want. I have my keyboard and mouse (even though I
don't use the mouse) set for standard Microsoft ones and all the function
keys still work such as the home, email, messenger, volume, fast forward,
mute and my home function keys (but remember to set your logitech functions
up for when others turn on the itouch config ).
By the way the Mogitech keyboard/mouse I use is the Cordless Desktop LX300
with scroll wheel.
If you need further assistance write me off list.

To Robert and all others who have helped:
In respect to JFW 8, using this version does indeed take away those annoying
key echoes. So that's great advice; thanks. One of my systems--not the one
I'm using now, but another one--does still have Logitech software on it.
That JAWS has its own keyboard driver, conflicting with other keyboard
drivers, makes sense; because every time I start JAWS, iTouch gives me an
annoying prompt to see if I want to turn on or download iTouch News. So
maybe I should just flat-out remove Logitech software from that system. But
I don't want to do this, because the keyboard on it is a special one that my
wife and mother-in-law, who are sighted, can get some value from: the
built-in wheel mouse and buttons used for scrolling, etc.
So how do you place the iTouch configuration on the desktop while taking the
annoying elements of this out of the Start Menu?
Thanks, all. I've learned a lot from this exercise, even though it's been a
bit aggravating.
Incidentally, is there not a way to remove specific items from the System
Tray? If there is an icon on it that I don't want to be there, how can I
make sure this does not load into the System Tray on next startup?
