Hi yardbird,
No its a file that windows creates when you have a blue screen. The mini
dump file is 64k and is the default dump windows creates. Its in a folder
called mini dump. You can't really do anything with these files without the
analyser utility from microsoft. It reads these files and tries to
determine which video driver cause the blue screen or windows stop error as
its also called.
With my crashes on this machine the dump returns probable driver jawsvid.dll
offset bb03
While to the average person this makes no sense, but its telling me that the
crashes are to do with the jaws video hook. And from what I have
determined from others here is that jaws 7.0 and 7.1 do not like nvidia
video cards.
I hope some of this is clear. I must admit I don't know a lot about it
either and have to rely on my tech friend for what it all means in english.

I know less than you may think about this. I don't know what a "dump," is,
actually, let alone a mini dump. Is this a way to say "screen image,"
maybe? And if so, what do you mean, there's a special folder for them (and
why mini instead of regular?), then how are they created? Is there
something automatically copying an image of every screen during a session to
this folder, under a procession of filenames? Or do you mean there's a
process by which you create a screen dump and file it, or...?
Hope you realize how much of this is simply new to me, not just a detail or
two.

There is a folder in the windows folder that holds the mini dump files. i
email them to a tech friend of mine and he has a program from microsoft that
analisys the file to try to find the cause of the blue screen crash.

When I have a blue screen crash, I wish I could capture whatever all that
text is on the fatal screen and send it to whoever might be able to help me
avoid a recurrence. From back when I operated my computer with normal
vision, I remember the Printscreen command, whose key is still on the
computer, of course. But is this what you do? Or what? And if so, how do

It does the same thing here. Its a blue screen crash. I will send the dump
to my buddy for analysis but I will bet money it comes back to jawsvid.dll

Yup I can most certainly confirm. It goes down in a flaming heap. Both JFW
7.0 and the latest 7.1 public beta exhibit the same symptoms

This page causes my computer to reboot only when Jaws 7.0 or the latest 7.1
beta is running. It works fine with WindowEyes. I wonder if anyone else
can duplicate this.
Moving to the table on the page does it every time with the beta. Also
using the up arrow sometimes reboots my computer.
