Hi,
Sorry, but unless you are running an older version of Outlook Express, your keystrokes are incorrect.
While you are in outlook express:
Hit alt M for the message menu
Arrow down and listen to each item and listen to the hotkey keystroke associated with each item.
The third item in the menu says, Reply to sender Control + R.
The fourth item in the menu says, Reply to all, Control + shft + R.

If you hit control + R, it will reply to sender, or for this message, it will reply to the list.
Now, running Jaws 7.0, in my keyboard manager for Outlook Express 5 & 6, if I go down to reply directly to sender, I hear none for the keystroke.

I really do not know why you would have something different than everyone else running Outlook Express and Jaws 7.0.
Hope this helps,
Chris

Bruce,

Come down here to my apartment and try this on my computer, please. Control
R is reply to all, and that's nothing to do with Jaws. it's just the
Windows-related keyboard command in Outlook Express. If you open my copy of
the Keyboard manager in OE, tab to the list, and hit r until you hear reply
directly to sender, you hear control shift r as the hotkey.

I will check once more by doing this on your own message, to which I'm
replying.

Okay. I opened your message to the list, pressed control shift r, heard
Jaws say "replying to sender," shift tabbed up to the To line, and read it.
Bruce Towes. Not the list.

No. Control+shift+r is the "reply to all" command.

Hi,
I'd just like to add that in my own copy of Jaws v. 7, there's both the
script for this reply to sender function and a hotkey sequence already
assigned to it. Control shift R. And it works.

The following is from Walt. Smith and works with Jaws 7. there are new scripts in both the Outlook and Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

Outlook Express script files that, when enabled, allow you to reply
directly

to the individual who sent a message to a list without replying to the
whole

list. The scripts are named ReplyDirectlyToSender and here's how to enable

them:

1. Open your e-mail program, Outlook or Outlook Express. This function is

not available to Eudora users.

2. Press INSERT+8 to open the Keyboard Manager.

3. If necessary, press TAB once to move focus into the list if individual

scripts within the script source file.

4. In the list of scripts, locate the ReplyDirectlyToSender script.

5. Press CTRL+A to assign a keystroke to this script. I used CTRL+SHIFT+A

since it wasn't assigned to anything else, but you can use any other

unassigned keystroke.

6. Press TAB once and uncheck the check box that asks if you want to
assign

the keystroke only to whatever keyboard configuration (desktop or laptop)

you're using.

7. TAB to the OK button and press ENTER.
