it's triggering another setup.exe file somewhere from a modem driver you
installed or upgraded, might be in the temp folder or somewhere else where
windows is looking before it comes to the CD, I've seen this before. You'll
have to find that file and rename or get rid of it. Might be in your temp
folder, might be just on the hard drive, could be in a folder you download
stuff to, I have no clue with out actually looking at the computer but I
know once I downloaded a file once and the downloaded file name was by
default, setup.exe and every time I tried to install a program from then on
it kept triggering that file, very annoying until finally I realized why it
was doing that and I renamed it and that stopped. I hope that helps, I'd
have to look at the computer to tell you exactly where it is but it's
probably on the hard drive, probably in the drive itself not in any folders
though it could be in a folder, or could even be on your desktop.

Thanks for your willingness to help, but there's nothing to paste. It
simply says "installing modem driver". If I then hit Next, it asks me =
to
restart the computer, and after restarting, there's no new JAWS, nothing
new. I read it using Narrator, and I didn't believe my ears, so I got =
my
wife to look at the screen, and that's exactly what it said.
Nothing more than that.

hi
Could you paste the exact message that is displayed on the screen so =
that=20
one of us could possibly figure out what it's doing? to be honest what=20
you're saying doesn't make a whole lot of sense, since the JAWS program=20
does not have any modem drivers.
so if you can somehowget the exact message to us here we could help you=20
sort this out.
