You may have checked already: But is there anything waiting to be
installed by Windows update, in the System Tray? Or, could you undo the
last update, etc.?

Subject: Problem Installing JfW 6.0

I have two PC's, both running Windows XP Home, SP2.
When I tried to install the ILM version of Jaws 6.0 on my Gateway
desktop, I
hear the JAWS intro message and the sound of waves, but then it says
it's
installing a modem driver. I actually thought they had placed the wrong
install file on the CD, but then I went and installed it on my HP
laptop,
and it ran just fine. No problem installing or activating it.
I went back to my desktop PC and started unloading things, but no luck
when
I tried installing again. I then went to msconfig and into diagnostic
mode,
which of course kills the sound card. I got sighted assistance and
tried
the CD again. Exactly the same results.

Anybody had this problem and solved it? If so, I'd love to hear how.

Thanks.
