They only manage to get away with it because most JAWS users will be using a copy of JAWS purchased by governments, charities and other large organisations that tend to just pay what htey need to. I paid for my own copy, as did many people and it annoys me like hell that you have to pay more for the same thing. It's not like any further development has to go in to making JAWS work on Pro versions of windows.

Nice one mate. Your exactly right. They are taking the piss a little. My computer adviser who knows a lot about software says, he's never known aprogramme that XP home won't be compatible with. If they are simply doing it for the money factor, and thinking about the people they are trying to help, they should be named, mentioned and discussed. Just because someone else is doing it they should do it? Give me a cottonpickin' break. Let's be real here. They're charging more for the so called Pro version simply because they can, and people and the government continueto pay the price. -----Original Message----- From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Chris Hallsworth Sent: Wednesday, July 22, 2009 6:09 PM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: Jaws Standard/professional Actually, this is correct what FS is doing. If MS is asking us to pay morefor "professional" features of Windows, why should FS not follow suit? Thereare no differences between standard and professional, however you can at least authorize JAWS on any supported version of Windows. Also you can buy add-ons like Remote Access and the new Tandem Direct. -- Chris Hallsworth E-mail: christopherh40@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx MSN: ch9675@xxxxxxxxxxx Skype: chrishallsworth7266 -------------------------------------------------- From: "Ron" <facup1927@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, July 22, 2009 10:59 PM To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Jaws Standard/professionalHi all. I have used Jaws Standard since version 6 and it has worked with all Windows software. And, having trouble with Vista and IE8, have decided to go back to XP. The XP version I have is professional. When I tried to download Jaws 10, which I had just paid £110 for an up grade, it said it was incompatible. Having phoned FS I was informed I would need to pay another £169 for an upgrade to professional. I asked what I was paying for, like what differences the professional version had, but they were a bit uncertain. They merely said it would work with XP Pro. Can anyone tell me why this is and what their reasons are? Why are we paying more for a professional version of Jaws, when it doesn't offer any extras. Any comments/thoughts would be appreciated.
