But JAWS saying the percentages of the progress bar has been extremely
helpfful to arithmetically know how much work has been done by the computer,
and how much is still remaining.
I am not so sure that the beeps can provide this kind of information.

Good suggestion about a beep instead of number on the progress bar. Send
that to suggestions@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and don't hold your breath for a
quick resolution.
As to the keystroke, yes it's even harder on a keyboard that has split
sections like the Microsoft Natural. But only used once in a while. It doesn't
tell you anything, but it shuts down JAWS faster than any other command so you
can try to launch it within a few seconds of performing those acrobatics.
As to having an audible sound when using that command, again send your idea
(I suggest separate messages) to suggestions@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

know that it doesn't take up too much space I will just continue to use Jaws as
normal. WOW I must admit its a pritty cool keystroke though on the down side it
does require some acrobatics. LOL I can do it no prob but what about thoughs
who don't have that flexibility?Ah well I guess its not a keystroke that one is
awear of. I mean I wasn't until today! I might give it a try when my computer
freezes up again and see what happens. Idealy what do people think about some
kind of sound letting one know that when you have done the action you know its
done because you hear the sound. I mean if that's what it's for to "kill Jaws"
then you might as well know because if the computer is in a state of being
frozen then I know it sounds stupid and to me pritty obvious, but how else is a
blind user going to tell that jaws is no longer running. If not by speach then
by a sound if you follow my meaning.
What do you all think. Also I would like the idea of in a new future
version of Jaws to have the abilty to beap progress bars rather then having
them spoken all the time. Again what do you all think? Probably you all might
think I'm crazy but I personally like the ideas myself.

I sure don't remember, but someone on this list does know where it gets
created. No, it doesn't take much disc space at all, and I think each iteration
overwrites the previous.

When Dave was talking about the function to Kill Jaws, Jaws key,
Windows and F4 you mentioned it creates a file that if sent to FS it can help
with them in figureing out the problem that was happening on the computer at
the present time when it wasn't behaving correctly. Well my question is: where
can this fouldor be located if ever I wanted to send the file to FS? Also
adding to that I know one wouldn't do the command unless they really have to
but I was just also wondering do the files take up a lot of memory i.e. Hard
dics space and finally Is it safe to delete if they built up over time? Would
deleting them effect Jaws in anyway?
Look forward to hearing from you or anyone else in ansering my
questions.

MY pc at work is shut down every day. The fact I keep having a problem
with word crashing at the moment doesn't help. Every time it brings up the not
responding message jaws refuses to speak until I can get it off. Unfortunately
narrator won't come up either and as usual most of our IT people don't have a
clue about access technologies.

Happens to me about once a day, as well, and that's here at work. Still
waiting an extra 20 seconds for JAWS to settle down and then reloading usually
takes care of the problem, unless another application (usually Outlook) is hung
up. then I use Narrator to uncover the culprit and close it down and then JAWS
comes back up. Turn off Narrator and back to work.
Don't often have to do a complete power-off shutdown, perhaps once
every three weeks.

Tried all that Dave. It's all fine on my home PC with Windows 7 but
at work where we are running XP Pro sometimes I just lose it all together. Very
difficult with my job as I'm interviewing people most of the day, need the
computer, and because of the speed of the PC, network, security bits and pieces
your talking about five or six minutes at least to get logged back on again,
not to mention the work lost.

Wait 20 to 30 seconds after killing JAWS before attempting to load
again. It needs to "flush" from the system.

When Jaws freezes, i.e. Jaws key + F4 does not quit, I try the Jaws
key + windows + F4 to force Jaws to exit. That usually works for me.
