Hi, sorry for my ignorance, but what's wrong with the latest build of JAWS 9, 9.0.552? If it's money, then no fears as it's a free update. Thanks!

Hi Don,
I clicked on your link 3 times and the video began playing each time. Using Jaws 9 here--not the current but the earlier release of Jaws 9 and I E 7. After the video began playing I at first had no controle of the virtual cursor but routed the Jaws cursor to the P C cursor and virtual P C cursor controle returned and I could arrow through all the 500 plus links though needless to say I only tried a few but see no reason why the others would not have worked. Significantly though, the video clip did work. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bobcat" <bobcat11@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi Don. I was able to hear the video. But, I had trouble with the page. My system became very sluggish while the video was running. I didn't think the virtual PC cursor was working so I went to the Jaws cursor. Surprising that I could move through all the links on that page with the Jaws cursor, and there are a lot. But, the position of the Jaws cursor hardly moved while doing this.

I thought the video was probably slowing my system down so I tried stopping it with escape which worked. Then I was able to get the virtual pc cursor working. I found some clickable volume and transport controls at the bottom of the page. Slash and shift slash would move between these clickable elements but they don't show up in the clickable elements list insert+control+slash.

See if you can find the play/pause element at the bottom of the page.

I wonder what player is being used.

At first, I thought it was bypassing the windows mixer because I couldn't adjust the volume. Then I remembered that my default sound device is the SRS Sandbox so the system sounds and videos were going through that mixer which happened to be set very low.

Bob

Subject: JAWS 9 and IE 7 problem

Hi list,

I had a strange thing happen this morning. A friend sent me the following link to listen to the audio of a video clip from a TV station. When I clicked on the link, I got the web page but I didn't get the video.

I have now contacted 3 other JAWS users, all of whom are using JAWS 9.0 (latest update) and XP Home, as am I. However, 2 of them are using IE 6 and the clip played fine for them, but 2 of us are using IE 7 and we can't get the clip to play.

The link for the clip is:

http://wn.wsvn.com/global/video/popup/pop_player.asp?ClipID1=2155734&h1=Raised%20From%20The%20Dead&vt1=v&at1=News%20-%20Special%20Coverage&d1=339800&LaunchPageAdTag=News%20-%20Special%20Coverage&fvCatNo=&backgroundImageURL=&activePane=info&playerVersion=1&hostPageUrl=http%3A//www1.wsvn.com/features/articles/specialreport/MI75423&rnd=77751333

   Hope someone can help.
