I believe that the DecTalk PC is not an external synthesizer but it is a
card inside the computer. The DecTalk Express is an external synthesizer.
Is DecTalk express what you ment?

I've just installed JAWS 8.0, but the installation process doesn't allow me
to activate Dectalk PC as my preferred synthesizer. I skipped JAWS 7, so
perhaps there's been a change in the old installation method for a couple of
versions, or possibly the new voice options mean that JAWS no longer
supports Dectalk external synthesizers. Can anyone advise?
