It's not laid out that way in MS 2003... in case that is what she is using.

Just a heads up, I probably missed out on the original post when they listed
what version they were running.

He said tools/options/general. That's the tab marked General in the series 
of multiple options pages. If you don't land on General when you first open 
the Options, press control tab to move from tab to tab until you land on 
General. If Jaws isn't speaking those tab names, stop at each one and tab, 
then if you hear the words Highlights or the next item, bookmarks, you're on

the General tab, and tagbb down until you come to a check box for the 
sounds. If you happen to feel like experimenting and turning this on or off,

don't forget to press OK at the bottom of that tab to reset Word and close 
the Options menus.
