Dan,
These are caused by Office sounds. There is a setting in Word 2000/XP/2003 to disable it:
1. Go to Tools/Options.
2. Press CTRL TAB until you hear "General Tab". 3. There should be a check box that says "provide feedback with sounds:" Uncheck this checkbox and press enter. You will not hear sounds from not on.
HTH,
Joseph

Subject: Is it JFW or MS Word?

Something very odd has started in Word XP.
Whenever I open, save or do
many other commands within Word I hear some
very strange sounds, as if
somebody has added audio information, little
hums, buzzes, a door closing
upon a save, they all sound intentional, but
I do not want them and cannot
figure if JFW is causing something to happen
of I fat fingered something
and cannot figure it out.

Thanks for any thoughts,

Dan
