I have some questions regarding speech output for JFW 5.0 updated

Hello Everyone--
Okay, I have a question regarding how to set the speech output in JAWS. I
would like for JAWS to speak in **words** only in **all** applications that I
may use on my PC. I have attempted to do this, but all that happens is that it
will either change to words in that application, but not in any other, or, it
will speak only in words while the PC is on. When I shut down and later turn
on the PC, once again, it goes back to speaking characters.
Basically, I would like to set JAWS to speak in words at all times from now on!
Please send me the steps on how to do this.
