Here's the way I understand things with regard to the talks software.

Any phone that supports talks has to be running a certain operating 
system--similar to different versions of windows on your computer.  You have

to look for a phone that is running what they call 60 Series Second or Third

edition.

That's all I can tell you on the subject.  I found all this out when I went 
to update my talks software.  I got the information from a company called 
Beyond Sight, which did my original installation.
