you have to route jaws to pc, and then route pc to jaws on settings, but it
will take a bit and you'll want to pull your hair out. have fun! thank
goodness I don't have t do that again. it took me an hour when I first got
my gmail account to do it.

But as it says:
To turn these case-sensitive shortcuts on or off, click Settings, and then
pick an option next to Keyboard shortcuts.
So you have to turn them on, and as you said, getting into the settings is a
pain, you have to click on the link settings with the jaws cursor.
And also as you said, most of us who have a GMail account just read it in OE
or Outlook.
You can download the tool to set it up from

But yet again, you have to go into the settings, mail setup, and turn on
pop3 and mail forwarding and it isn't easy with jaws.

I never knew you could do that. I always found getting into the settings,
which you must do through the standard view, is a pain. I did it once or
twice, but the jaws cursor moved around way too much for me. I'll have to
check it out and then I can let you know, though I do think there are other
gmail users. don't know if they use the web though, because you can set
gmail up in Outlook Express or Outlook 2002. I use it in both places (the
web and express).

I recently started using GMail and am having trouble getting the GMail shortcut keys to work. I went into my settings and turned on shortcut keys, but if I, for example wish to go to my inbox by pressing "G then I" pressing "G" moves to the next graphic on the page. I tried using the Jaws pass through key but this doesn't help.
Is anyone using GMail's shortcut keys with Jaws successfully? If so, what am I missing?
