i have mine set to auto install updates, so I better change that then.
Just hope the notification stays gone after I reject it once, instead of
reappearing every time I log on to the net. That drove me crazy some months
ago when it tried to install an office component, when I did not even have
thois on my pc...lol

Updating to IE 8 will not be mandatory. The update notification will
appear in your system tray and you will have the option of accepting or
rejecting it.
