Sorry, I need more help. I changed the default TextOutDelay to 5 and then 25. It has no effect on JAWS speaking the white on black text. Do you, or does anyone know where FS made the change? White on Black was not highlighted text in JAWS 7.1. It became highlighted in JAWS 8 and continued in JAWS 9.=20 I have changed the emulator jcf to use custom highlight only. This stops the white on black text from speaking when the script has control. My issues are when the script doesn't seem to have control and the default script does. 1. When I use CapsLock +Delete to either magnify or go back to magnification level 1 when MAGic and JAWS are running together. (100% of the time). MAGic alone doesn't speak the white on black text at all. 2. When an adjunct app. squeezes my emulator and places itself in the remaining display space. At this point, the emulator does not have focus but JAWS speaks all the white on black text in the emulator anyway. (100% of the time) 3. When I close a window that is open on top of the emulator. (Depends on the window. I haven't nailed it down entirely.) In all these cases JAWS is transitioning from or to or has left the emulator script entirely. So I really need a way to kill it in one of the default files without stopping the focus highlight from speaking. If I set the default.jcf to use only custom highlighting, JAWS will not speak when arrowing through the message list in Outlook (as just one example). So that is not an option. -----Original Message----- From: jawsscripts-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jawsscripts-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of David Farough Sent: Tuesday, June 10, 2008 12:45 PM To: jawsscripts@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [jawsscripts] Re: White on black highlight Hi Alice: This setting is found in the advanced options in the configuration manager. Here is the Jaws help for this setting. This edit box specifies the number of milliseconds JAWS waits before speaking text newly written to the screen. The default value is 0. It seems that when I press CapsLock+Delete to magnify, the application's jcf for JAWS loses control for a bit and the default settings take over. So the white on black text is spoken. It's not 100% of the time, though. What is textout delay? The behavior happens without MAGic but not in the same way. The text will be spoken frequently when I close a window that was open over top of my app. It will always speak when I open an adjunct app that resizes my app's window, put's itself in the remaining display space and take the focus. I think JAWS is doing a screen refresh.=3D3D20 Alice -----Original Message----- From: jawsscripts-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx=3D20 [mailto:jawsscripts-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of David Farough Sent: Tuesday, June 10, 2008 12:14 PM To: jawsscripts@xxxxxxxxxxxxx=3D20 Subject: [jawsscripts] Re: White on black highlight Hi Alice: I have found the following entries in: magic screen magnification.jcf [OSM] UseCustomHighlight=3D3D3D3D1 CustomHighlightTextColor=3D3D3D3D000000000 CustomHighlightColor=3D3D3D3D255255000 Perhaps this is causing the problem.
