Hi Bryan,
BNC Remedy even offers an accessibility mode for their web client, and they are
also writing about their commitment regarding section 508 on their web site.
Well, the accessibility mode of the web client has some ugly bugs and also the
windows client surely has several drawbacks, however, with some scripting it
should be rather usable, and it surely cannot just be claimed that it is
totally unaccessible.

Best, Willi

Hi,

Could you tell me if you had any experience with the program before being hired?
If not, why did you get hired?
Would you also have any tips about experience with active directory as that can
only be learned while using win server editions?
Lastly, any suggestions to crack open the door when a company continues to
claim remedy isn't accessible?
Thanks,
Bryan schulz

It is just a client that runs on Windows. I am a manager and I review problem
and change tickets and either close or approve them. Often times you just have
to use your mask you to do some searching on the screen or your mouse cursor to
see what's there.

The key to me is to be flexible and to practice once you get there. You can let
them know as a job applicant that while you don't have experience you can gain
it and you can actually perform the duties assigned.

Hi,

That didn't say much.
You have to work with it? Is there a demo version? Will it run on regular
windows or do you have to have win server?
Did someone create scripts for you?
What tasks can you accomplish like creating/managing tickets?
Thanks,
Bryan

It is usable but it is not easy. You just need to work with it and learn how
to manage within the scope of what the software offers. I use the desktop
client but I don't think the web version is easily worked with.

Hi,

That is what I expected.
Did someone create scripts for you or are you getting by without them?
Do you enter data/manage tickets?
How are blind people supposed to hope to be hired when we know the
software won't be accessible?
So the rehab agency hires a scripter, the company will most likely
hire someone else long before the scripter solves the issue and there
is only one choice of a scripter where I live.

We use remedy here at my work. It appears to be some what tailorable
but actually haven't tried that part. Overall it is navigable but
not a friendly experience. I suspect it depends on how it is
configured, would have an impact on its usability.
So accessable but not very user friendly.

Hi,

I don't know how many versions of remedy ticketing system software
are used today.
Help desk or customer service/reservationist jobs require being able
to use the remedy program.
Would anyone know how well the remedy program works with jaws?
