Hi Will

Tried your suggestions today.

Changing the Zoom to whole page solved my problem within Word. I tried all
other options within Zoom but the whole page option was the only one that
worked.

However I still have the same problem within a Government based program.

This is a program that uses Word for certain things, when I enter word from
within this program I sil have the same problem and altering options in Zoom
have no effect. That is that I cannot navigate along a line of text by
individual characters, I can read by line or by word but not by character.
Pressing num pad 5 3 times quickly will enable me to hear each characters
code number, but this is not a lot of help.

I am managing just about, there must be some sort of confliction with jaws
and the other program because other odditities keep occuring. .

It is very difficult to explain them when you are not sure what has happened
and what is happening.

Thanks

Regards

Graham

Hi Graham,

I think, that the SayCharacter script function, called when you press 5 on
the numeric key pad, isn't picking the correct character from the off screen
model. Everything seems to be there in the OSM, as SayLine is working, but
I suspect that JAWS has a problem tracking the cursor for right aligned text
under Word 2003. Hence, it's generating this problem.

You could try any of the following to see if that corrects the issue:
1) Maximise the Word application main window, by pressing alt + space and
selecting maximise
2) Changing to normal view from within Word's view menu 3. Changing the zoom
scale from Word's view menu
4) Changing the font and font size used in the Word document.

These are known to resolve some off screen model problems. If they don't
work, this will need to be sorted out by the system side devs at FS.

Will
