Hi Brian Jade is coming at Midday to try and find the missing folder but
also to try the Patch to fix the conflict between Lunar and Jaws drivers on
my Deskktop which has the independent Video card. Last night I sent to
Kevin a Patch for Toshiba and James Watts information regarding Toshiba
sound flaw I doubt the patch will help his Toshiba but he will know exactly
how to find James Watt who will help VIPs. Please Brian do not say anything
unkind about young Jade it is not likely the Driver will work so far I have
been Emailing support at Dolphin and not had any reply I am now going to
phone them and insist they talk Jade through Midday we have to do a restore
point before and if all goes wrong after if this driver is another failure I
shall realise there is no cure I have the Lunar Driver Patch on a Cd since
February too nervous to try it in case it loses all sound completely as it
did last summer Dorothy

Dear Dorothy and list:
Well if my laptop becomes muted, it seems to only happen whilst
using my Logitech 350 USB headphones. So I just unplug them from
the USB 2.0 port and usually sound returns to the computer.
If it doesn't, I can do this:
Press the Windows key to bring up the start menu then
Type the letter "c" twice to probably reach Control Panel and
press enter.
Then wait a couple of seconds and press the "s" key four times to
reach Sounds and Audio and press enter.
Then press control tab twice to get to the audio tab.
Then press tab once to reach the volume button and press it by
using the spacebar.
Then press tab once more to reach the volume setting and press
page up a few times to increase it by around 20% each time.
If all has gone well, this will restore sound to my PC. Then
press alt F4 to get out of the volume setting and press shift
plus control plus tab to get to the sound schemes tab and see
what crazy sound scheme is presently selected. It should be the
one for my Logitech headphones but at least a couple of times has
been no sounds!
After selecting the correct sound scheme, I save it if sound is
working correctly, exit the sounds and audio manager with alt
plus F4 and see how long the changes last this time.
At least once I found repeatedly pressing page up on the volume
setting of the audio tab would only let me raise sound to 16%.
No idea why but selecting a sound scheme other than no sound
seemed to solve this problem.
The Logitech Tech Support people tell me they've never heard of
the problems I am having with headset volume spontaneously being
cranked up to a deafening 100% or dropping a lot or being set to
0.
Really strange. Will phone them when I have some time to spend
on the phone and demand they open a support ticket.
Sometimes you have to do that sort of thing. No idea why first
tier tech support doesn't realize they're out of their depth and
escalate the matter to the second tier, but they don't.
