Hi Sue, I am fortunate to live in Birmingham and think Sight Village is a wonderful place, especially now that it has moved from the QAC. I have the following observations which might help: As there is so much to 'see' I go through the listings and make a note of the particular things that interest me. I get there early (usually at, or just before, the doors open. I generally go on the first day as I think the exhibitors are fresh and are willing to spend time with you to talk about and examine their products/services. The guides I find too are fresh from their training and are usually enthusiastic and willing to help. They are usually from a local school and, although they have been given a quick training in how to guide and are often very interested in the products/services on offer/display. Some exhibitors too hold seminar sessions to deal with particular products, etc. they are offering and these I find (when I have selected them) are extremely informative. I don't know what the Apollo Hotel is like but it is certainly close to the venue. If you do select the companies/organisations which most interest you then I think one day will be enough. However, if like me, you hate crowds, you may not be able to see all you want in one day. I am going on the first day and, as a Trekker user, I am attending the function organised by Humanware and then I will, having seen all I want, go home. Email me off list if you want any more help. I know this is off topic but I'm just wondering if any of you are going to Sight Village in Birmingham this year. I've never been before and I've managed to get the 3 days that it's on off work. I'm wondering if I should go for 3 days or a 1 day visit to the exhibition would be enough. I live in the north east so I'd have to stay overnight in the Apollo hotel which I found on the internet if I stay for the duration of the exhibition. I'd welcome anyone's feedback on this as I've not visited anything like this before and I'm not sure what to expect. I've looked at the Sight Village 2006 website and it sounds fantastic so I'm looking forward to it. Thanks for any advice.
