Hi Kevin. My understanding of this feature is that it can be used on screens where you have an image that contains text that is in fact just a picture of that text. it will work with a screenful of information but it is not a fully fledged OCR tool. for this, I would suggest a roduct such as Finereader. I understand that later versions of Jaws have a scanning facility enabling the user to read tif and other image files? If anyone has tried this facility I would appreciate feedback on how it works. At present I print off files which Jaws perceives as images (E.G. tif files) and, using Kurzweil read them. Grateful for any help. Many thanks, Kevin ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
