Hi Kevin, The Quick OCR facility does an OK job in some very limited situations in my opinion. It's certainly not, as Graham says, a fully fledged OCR software and I think you'll get much better results sticking to your Kurzweil 1000. The Quick OCR can be handy in some inaccessible screens but is no good for scanning things like PDF documents which have text buried in graphics within the document. I understand that later versions of Jaws have a scanning facility enabling the user to read tif and other image files? If anyone has tried this facility I would appreciate feedback on how it works. At present I print off files which Jaws perceives as images (E.G. tif files) and, using Kurzweil read them. Grateful for any help. Many thanks, Kevin ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
