Sue, I've come across this with the CanoScan LiDE range on Windows XP, and in that case it was down to a purely graphic splash screen that JAWS just didn't recognise. I thought I had written down the exact steps to work out if this is what's happening and if so, how get past it but if so, I've lost the notes! From my recollection, once the CD has spun up you can cancel out of any dialogue offering a setup option, go into My Computer and find the CD drive, and start the setup manually from there. I'll try it on my PC at work later and get the path of the file you need. Sue, It is possible that the scanner software has a graphical splash screen to start the installation from. In this case Jaws may well not work at this point. However, you may find that, if you can get a minute or two of sighted help, that the scanner will still work OK after getting past this point and completing the installation. It's worth a try at least. Hi. I'm using the latest version of Jaws with Vista. I'm trying to install my scanning software. It's for a cannon scanner and I'm having some difficulty. I put the CD into the drive. It spins as normal. I select run set up. The CD stops spinning and then nothing happens after that. Jaws doesn't say anything so I'm wondering where to go from here. Please can anyone tell me what to try next? I've tried tabbing round to a next button but there's nothing there. I'd be grateful for any help as I've recently changed my computer and I thought that putting the scanning software on my new machine would be a doddle. Sue.
