Dragon NaturallySpeaking Pro has a built in utility for transferring a User profile. It is accessed from the Manage Users dialog/Advanced meu item. You'll find an Export control. This is the tool you'd use to move the profile to a removable media or send it to an accessible network drive. You'd then import to the target computer from the same Advanced control on the target computer. I've put a set of instructions below. Once you transfer a user it will as you to run a new audio setup wizard. This is one of the best reasons that all users should be on digital input devices.to provide uniformity if the profile is transferred amongst PCs. Exporting and Importing User Files You can use the following method to export your user to a new location, including a network directory. The user is then available to be imported by other computers on the same network. To export a user 1. On the NaturallySpeaking menu activate Manage Users. (this can be done by saying Naturallyspeaking which will reveal the DNS Menu, then Manage Users or by using the DNS menu hotkey Ctrl+shift+f12). 2. On the Manage Users dialog box, select a user, activate the Advanced button and activate Export on the Advanced button menu. 3. Use the Browse For Folder dialog box to find a location for the exported user files then use Enter to activate. To import a user 1. On the NaturallySpeaking menu of the target PC activate Manage Users. (If there are no active users on the target when DNS is started it will open the New User Wizard.cancel the wizard which will leave the NaturallySpeaing menu available). 2. On the Manage Users dialog box, activate the Advanced button and activate Import on the Advanced button menu. 3. Use the Browse For Folder dialog box to locate the user files you want to import and click OK. 4. The system will import the User. 5. Close the Manage Users dialog, then go to the Open Users dialog, located the imported user, and activate Open control. I think it is also important to make sure that both PCs have the same builds of JSay and their supporting technologies or there could be complications..ed. I've never tried importing voice profiles from one computer to another though. J-Say has made the training up of a voice profile so easy that I just create a new one on each machine. If you create a lot of customized commands there is a way to copy them from one computer to another. If you're just getting started with J-Say, though, I don't suspect you've done much of this thing yet. BTW: When you download the 1177 build of JAWS from the T&T Consultancy page you don't need to provide anything. As it's just another build of a version that you already own you don't need serial numbers or authorization numbers. As others have asked and Sina summarized beautifully, the question is not about J-Say working with Vista but rather some of the improvements later builds of JAWS have created that are JAWS fixes. As Sina indicated and Own intonated, my question is referring to a hope for J-Say to be able to work with the later builds of JAWS 8.0 that have some of the JAWS issues themselves fixed. Hope this is clearer.I am hoping J-Say will be more compatible with the later builds of JAWS for the sake of JAWS fixes not really because i expect J-Say to work with the latest windows release or anything. Also I did use the link from the T and T consultancies web site andwhat I assume was the same link available through Next Generation. I never came to a prompt that allowed me to enter in the serial number and authorization number. I'll get that sorted out next week. Another pressing question, can anyone tell me if the J-Say I purchase (nearly a thousand dollars Canadian) can be loaded on my lap top and my desk top both and how I would address profiles being updated. Is there some way to merge the updates or how does this work? Many thanks for any response. Sorry for any confusions.
