Once the Iyonix has been persuaded to start, with its ethernet working, is
it stable?

My Iyonix can behave similarly. The on board ethernet can totally fail to
initialise, or can appear to have initialised but not allow any ethernet
activity. Having failed at the first attempt, a restart may stiff the Iyonix
or show pyjamas. Once the machine is up and running it is very stable. From
my reading of power supply issues as described on this list a poor power
supply gives all sorts of odd problems all the time.

My power supply does show 5.1V, which is the right answer.

Once up and running I then just left the Iyonix on all day.

CJE can supply a fix for defective on board ethernet in the form of an
external card. Software is on Castle's site.
