As mentioned its SATA, and the current motherboard wont have it, it 
will require a redesign and different chipset. It would be possible to 
use SATA via a PCI card in the shorter term.

It is very common being used on all new PC's, but the parallel ATA we 
currently use will be around for at least another decade.
