It seems to me the biggest problem with your app will be making sure that if
someone does accidentally click the drive icon, nothing breaks.  Clicking on
drives is so ingrained in RO users that people are bound to do so sooner or
later even if they shouldn't.

Maybe someone could write a wimp filter that traps clicks on the drive?
