My problem is that my internal mail server sends mail out just fine. It's
the IIS SMTP server that is having problems. In particular the bad emails.
IIS SMTP seems to not send out the undeliverable reports. They are all
stacking up in the badmail directory.

p. 662 states in the "Note" that TCP-53 is required for Exchange and IIS
SMTP services to send to the Internet. This is because they use that for MX
record lookups.
I have personally verified this with packet traces. IIS and Exchange SMTP
do indeed use TCP-53 as well as UDP-53 to perform MX record lookups.

I had ISA working with Exchange 2000 just fine, and now, incoming mail
is working, but out-going is not. Any suggestions on where to look first to
troubleshoot? We did run the mail wizard, and after that all was working. I
am not sure what we changed to tie things up.
I have Toms book, so if there are specific pages to reference me to,
that would be great.
