Hi Dave,

I know, I know. As one well known person said "I feel your pain".
Except in my case, I really do. :-)

It leads to extra reverse lookup entries and other DNS fiddle around
that would be more convenient to not have to deal with.

And SMTP is exactly what I am doing!

Just putting in place our Anti-Spam gateway. Inbound is fine, but
outbound
is an issue.

Hi Dave,

I'm not saying it wouldn't be nice to have. Heck, the Windows 2000 and
Windows Server 2003 RRAS NAT does the same thing. I just never thought
of it
as a core firewall feature. Although it does create havoc with SMTP
server
hosting.

Well, I have worked with various firewalls, and it's a basic NAT
functionality that even cheapies link most SOHO firewalls/routers (ex.
Linksys, SMC etc) can perform.

Hi David,

While I agree that its not optimal, I never thought of it as a basic
firewall function.

Thats what I was afraid of......I noticed that after I sent the post. I
cannot believe that ISAServer can't do this basic firewall function!!!!
