I've run into this problem now testing from two distinct ISA protected
networks. These are both SBS 2003 networks as an FYI.
There is no real error message # on the client side other than a "link to
xyzvpn failed" at which point it tries to reconnect. The connection works
fine for generally about 1 minute. The reconnect does not generally work to
well, I usually have to cancel and try to connect again after 15 seconds or
so.
I do see an 20159 event in my system event log file on the workstation that
says I was disconnected. No real meat their.
I do not have any inbound VPN enabled. Just trying to allow XP workstations
to connect to an outside VPN.

What's in the ISA logs for that traffic?
"whacked" is a bit unclear; exactly what happens and what is the user
experience (error msg, etc)?

I've got an SBS 2003 Server with ISA 2004 SP3.
My outbound PPTP VPN Connections are whacked after 60 seconds of connection
time. These are from Windows XP SP2 Workstations inside my ISA network
(internal).
I manually added my PPTP Protocol as an outbound rule in case the Type 47 G=
RE
was causing me grief, and still the problem persists. Upgraded to Service
Pack 3. Read Tom's article that seems to be applicable to ISA 2000 only.
I've got a Windows XP SP2 machine that is not on my ISA network, and it
connects just fine.
Any ideas?
