I concur with that also.... :) -----Original Message----- From: John Tolmachoff (Lists) [mailto:johnlist@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Friday, June 17, 2005 6:01 PM To: ISA Mailing List Subject: [isalist] Re: OT: Attn Thor http://www.ISAserver.org And when the next virus uses your e-mail address as the forged from address, the IP that all of those "challenges" come from will be correctly flagged as sending out spam. Additionally there is already a concept virus that will actually respond to those challenges, although no virus yet has used it. Or how about this DOS attack that has already happened: A Black Hat sends out thousands and thousands of messages with a single forged from address to a system that uses C/R such as Earthlink. That system then bombards that forged from address with thousands of C/R messages. Yes, this has already happened. Have you ever seen what happens when both sender and recipient are on C/R systems? It creates an endless loop of one server challenging the other. C/R systems are known to create problems with auto notices, such as those from airlines and on-line retailers. Remember people, if the war on spam were that easy to win, it would have been over already.
