If your ISA is installed in cache-only mode then no, you can only have
the internal facing NIC. You must have ISA in firewall or integrated
mode to have an external facing NIC. In addition, you must also have a
way for an ISA in cache-only mode to retrieve content on behalf of your
clients, be it directly from the source or via an upstream server or
server chain.

Subject: [isalist] NIC requirements for ISA Server 2000 Application
Layer Filtering Web Proxy in the Perimeter Network

http://www.ISAserver.org

Hello,
We have a debate going on as to if we need to have external facing NIC
to
setup "ISA Server 2000 Application Layer Filtering Web Proxy in the
Perimeter Network". Currently we only have NIC facing internal net.

Your advice/help is greatly appriciated.

Thanks,

Sunnie_Chon@xxxxxxxxxxx
