NIC requirements for ISA Server 2000 Application Layer Filtering Web Proxy in the Perimeter Network

Hello,
We have a debate going on as to if we need to have external facing NIC to
setup "ISA Server 2000 Application Layer Filtering Web Proxy in the
Perimeter Network". Currently we only have NIC facing internal net.
Your advice/help is greatly appriciated.
