As far as I'm aware, having your Isa Server as a DHCP server is a no-no. I may be wrong and if anyone else has managed it please accept my apologies. -----Original Message----- From: Dan Bartley [mailto:dan@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thu 18/04/2002 01:37 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Cc: Subject: [isalist] RE: Cable modem problem http://www.ISAserver.org Yes. I did the registry hack suggested at the learning zone for disabling IPAutoconfig. So I get 0.0.0.0. I get a couldnât contact DHCP server error when I try to force a renew from the command line. Iâm changing from ISDN to a cable modem. The cable co. says I must have my ISA server set for DHCP. Followed the instructions in the Learning Zone for this type of setup. I tested it against my ISDN router. Set it to do DHCP, gave the DHCP Client rule the IP of the ISDN router as the remote computer. It wonât get an IP from it. I stopped the ISA Control, as suggested, still wonât get the IP. Maybe it is the router, but I thought I would check ahead if anyone has any thoughts on what else I might be missing.
