[Ilugc] sound configuration

Hi,
I use Debian (the unstable branch). How do i get many applications to
use the sound card at the same time? i.e. for 2 applications to use the
sound card, one app waits for the other to finish. This was configured
by default in Gentoo, but in Debian and FC it is not the case.
There is a software mixer in ALSA named "dmix". It can do mixing so
you dont need arts/esd.
