And that is the appropriate way, unless the intention is to just
'avoid' the current problem's side-effects.
Depending on the severity of the situation it may not be the best or
even a candidate solution if stability is of concern.
And clearly, snubbing dependencies for a kernel is not something one
should do unless it was a personal computer used predominantly for
checking emails and surfing the web.
