[Ilugc] request for suggestion on terminal based e-mail client

pine seems to b non-GPL s/w. I recently read mutt manual which says
POP, IMAP access as optional settings, so does that mean it was not
meant to b a e-mail client for mails from internet instead from LAN
net. like the old unix system, where there was a central server and
all mails were within network connected to server. Plz correct me if i
am wrong.

if you want a gui try mozilla thunderbird (that's pretty light) but if
not, try sylpheed.

I know thunderbird is lite on windows, but is it true on linux. Your
comments plz.
