If you are not ready to do that, you can resize the partitions in
Vista without any data loss using its disk management. Create a new
partition and install Linux on it.
Has anyone resized Vista partition with the NTFS resizing utils that
come with Fedora 9 and other distros?
From what I have observed on a friend's laptop, the Vista disk manager
will allow shrinkage upto 50% or thereabouts of the disk space. This
is a lot of disk space waste if you are keeping Vista for occassional
use.
