[Ilugc] how to boot from external usb hdd

How is it possible to boot a machine (Linux/Windows) from external USB
harddisk?
This is something to do with your Motherboard. You might find this
option in the BIOS, while booting. Usually you can get in there by
pressing 'DEL' or 'F2' just after powering on.
