Free Software means not necessarily to be an open source product. For
example Adobe Reader is a free software (Proprietary to Adobe). When the
same Adobe Reader source code is available to us for use, modify and re
distribute then it is open source.

?Free software? is a matter of liberty, not price. To understand the
concept, you should think of ?free? as in ?free speech,? not as in ?free

'Free software' is a term which emphasizes freedom, rather than just
revealing the source code.
Free Software ensures that a software created by using another free software
should be released as free software. In other words, if you modify a free
software you cannot release the modified version as proprietary software. On
the other hand, Open Source doesn't ensure this.
