[Ilugc] booting problem

grub menu to boot from the MBR it found after scanning. if i choose that 
option, it OS boots fine.

 can someone tell me whats going on and what could be the fix ?

Try changing your first boot device to IDE harddisk (IDE1 ?). This
should be a problem of
not having the correct bootable device in BIOS.
