What is stopping you from creating one manually? See man mdadm.conf -
there is an example in the man page that you can copy and modify for
your setup.
Sorry, i have missed earlier threads. If it is 2.6 kernel based, the file
is not compulsory.
You need to create the file only for some specialized situations like for
ex sharing spare drives among different arrays, etc.
