Defining a raid array with all partitions on one hard disk is OK if you
are doing this for learning purpose but *not* for a production system.
Did you create the raid array manually or use some GUI tool? Pls. name
the tool.
format and mount the array manually, there is no problem but as soon^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
as i make an entry into the /etc/fstab file and reboot the system,
the system goes into Maintenance mode reporting an error that
"fsck.ext3:No such file or directory found while trying to open
/dev/md0" if i remove the entry from /etc/fstab . it works fine..but
then i have to manually mount it everytime.
this is happening first time in the usual process of creating RAID
array from 3 diff partitons on a single SATA drive. my os is Fedora
8.
i tried to make a node file for /dev/md0 but it already exists..and
also there is no mdadm.conf file crerated.
This is the problem.
You need to create this file (refer man mdadm.conf). It is in /etc dir
structure.
