[Ilugc] Weird network problem

It is a card that was bought from HP. It has a The Intel 82546EB Dual
Port Gigabit Ethernet Controller.
You can check for hardware problem by stressing the receive path of
the NIC. Only recv causes interrupts and NICs normally expose their
problem that way.
If the recv has an issue., then even the ping replies from the
cisco-router should get screwed. However., that does not happen.
Everything seems fine till the router. We are able to ping every other
NIC that is connected to the same switch.
However., I'm still waiting for the issue to occur so that I can grab a
tcpdump and see what is happening.
Anyway pls observe the problem for some time and theorize after you
have data. Observe tcpdump output for a while. What particular packet
exchange causes this behavior? Or is it after a certain period of
time?
Yeah. I'm not in the campus right now., so i'm talking with the admins
there to start tcpdump to log interesting traffic till the issue occurs.
