Quite frankly, I hear the words for various directions (vadakku, therku
etc) used on a daily basis.  "Kanini" for computer is a word I havent
heard used .. even by those of my relatives who are far better educated
at tamil than I am (as in, can quote sangam era poetry that quite
legitimately did not have any tinge of sanskrit in it because it
predates the aryan influences on tamil nadu).  I keep hearing them say
"laptop" (madi mel?) or "computer".



i see something positive here.. if you have relatives who know better
tamizh.. can u request them to help us in our efforts :-)

ok.. np... lets make it common by using it :-)  when theru (????), nagar
(????), kiraamam (???????) which were in common practice are in danger of
becoming street, town and city..
