Folks,
FWIW, both VMware server as well as M$ Virtual PC
are free-as-in-free-beer downloads starting this week. You may
have to register and provide some info, and you get free
license keys.

The VMware server runs either on a Windows or a Linux box,
and allows multiple Windows or Linux clients. OTOH, the
Virtual PC only runs on a few M$ OSes like XP Pro, XP Server,
etc.
These provide full-virtualization layers, unlike the paravirtualization
hypervisor approach taken by Xen (which will not run any client OS
except specially-ported kernels).
Give VMware a try, it allows multiple Linux clients, which is great
for virtual hosting and other similar stuff.
