[Ilugc] Ubuntu 8.04 on Dell

I haven't tried running the live cd.
When I try to install, it says copying files and the
process freezes.
Had a similar problem when I tried to install Mandriva from
LFY. There
was an error message which I don't remember now.
Will try to install Ubuntu once again and get back to the
list with more
information.

If you have good RAM -- anuything more than 512 -- always try to run live, That
way you know how much of the hardware is being supported and you wont end up
installing a crippled OS.
Will wait for more info. If you are trying with DVD, try in text install mode.
