[Ilugc] Remastering Knoppix or Mepis ?

The reason why am not
going to SLAX is due to the package management. I am
looking to adopt
Debian. If I choose a RPM distro (PCLOS),i would put
smart in that
eventhough apt-get is available :)
Ok. Good to know that you have made progress. However
you seem to not want remastering, you seem to want to
make a liveCD. In that case just spend some time
learning about the boot process, the El Torito CDROM
booting specs, initrd, blah blah blah.
Then you may also want to to for a bootable DVD if
reqd. Use squashfs or unionfs and go for some window
manager like XFCE or Windowmaker if you want to
differentiate yourself.
Package management? No need to think twice. Stick to
deb...
IOW I am saying you have to figure out how to make
your own Debian based liveCD or liveDVD.
If you end up learning a lot, make a howto available
for us or still better add it to
www.debian.org/documentation website.
