if youdont need x , then you probably need just the kernel which you can
make bootable probably using rawwrite or something similar and can have the
the other specific nees compiled with thekernel , i remember looking
something in the net long time ago which gives you hardware detection and
network support which can fit in a floppy

Hi all,
One of my client needs his requirement in the form
to remaster any distro.which I have to choose?
I think Knoppix and Mepis are good. But am unaware
the core (not even X).
Any inputs on this?
Have anybody remastered Mepis?. I just need to have

Btw, if you don't even want X, then you don't want a
liveCD either. :-)
I mean you could do with a dsl on a USB key or
something. I thought the very point of liveCD is that
it autodetects stuff. Your kernel already autodetects
everything except X.
What is it that you want?
I found linuxfromscratch not worth a penny though it
was attractive at first. Too much theory, no practical
focus.
Best,
Girish
